Penny has over 40 years of experience in the care sector, beginning as a volunteer at just 14, caring for an individual with Down’s syndrome. She’s been dedicated to helping others ever since.
After college, Penny worked for Buckinghamshire County Council, supporting people with learning disabilities as they transitioned into independent living. After having children, she qualified as a Playgroup Supervisor which she did for 3 years before moving to Norfolk.
Whilst studying for a degree in Natural Sciences at UEA, Penny worked as a Healthcare Assistant for Norfolk County Council in a day centre for the elderly, and also for Fitzroy Support, helping adults with learning disabilities.
After university, she became a Supply Teacher, but returned to work for Fitzroy Support for a further 15 years.
Penny decided to become a Domiciliary Healthcare Worker after caring for her mother, and joined Cavell Healthcare in October 2021 as a Healthcare Worker.
In April 2024, Penny was promoted to Registered Trainer. Penny has always loved looking after people, and now, she can pass on her experience and knowledge to others. Her passion for care is evident in everything she does, and her colleagues describe her as a valued and highly respected member of the team.
